Elders

Membership and Term: three persons, one appointed annually for a three year term with a maximum of two consecutive terms

Purpose: To work alongside the Pastors to provide creative spiritual leadership and general oversight of the congregation.

Responsibilities:

a)     To be a support group for the Pastor by providing leadership in areas of spiritual life, pastoral/leadership tasks, nurture, discipling and membership responsibilities etc.

b)     To work toward maintaining a climate of peace and goodwill within the congregation by helping to achieve understanding in areas of conflict.

c)     To assist in leading the congregation in defining its vision in terms of purpose and mission and in setting goals and priorities.

d)     To work at holding this vision before the congregation (along with the pastor)

e)     To meet with the Pastor on a monthly basis.

Accountability: Congregation via the Congregational Chairperson
