Care Team

Membership and Term: Nine persons with three appointed annually for a three year term.

Purpose: The Care Team is to model care giving and provide leadership to ensure that members and participants in the life of the congregation receive care and support in the midst of the challenges of life.

Responsibilities:

a)     To meet as a group, 10-12 times a year

- to share, pray, and plan actions in response to congregational care needs;

- to learn and grow in their ability to offer support and be caring ministers;

- to be a support to each other

b)     To gently make themselves available to hurting persons in order that they might be a channel for God’s healing and hope.

c)     To work systematically and intentionally to insure that each congregational family unit is supported in meaningful ways each year.

d)     To commit themselves to pray for congregational participants on a regular basis.

Qualities that characterize the Team: complete confidentiality; trustworthy (trusted by congregation and by each other); sensitive listening; able to walk along with persons through their life experiences; willing to nurture each other.
